Accommodation:
Peace. We have selected two high mountain refuges. The Carro refuge for the first night, the Evettes refuge for the second and the last night a confortable chalet in Tignes. An experience at altitude, between heaven and earth. You'll be staying in a dormitory and practising yoga with an uninterrupted view of some wonderful scenery.
Practice:
Mélanie is passionate about yoga and has trained in Asia and Europe in the practice of Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin. Her aim is to give everyone the chance to adapt their own practice, combining anatomical knowledge with self-awareness. Through her classes, she encourages each student to find autonomy in their practice, to listen to their sensations and to explore yoga with kindness. Practising from the heart is one of her mottos. A practice that combines gentleness, strength, kindness, love and listening to your body. A moment of reconnection with oneself, combining philosophy, meditation, pranayama and postural practice.
Hiking:
Luc, a qualified mountain leader who is also a professional fireman and mountain rescuer, will accompany us for 3 days to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Haute Maurienne.
On the 1st day, we'll make our way to the Carro refuge and its two magical lakes, crossing superb pastures, torrents and waterfalls (800 m ascent - walking time 3 hours) On arrival at the refuge, we'll be able to lighten our packs to climb to the Col du Carro, on the border with Italy, where we'll be in for some wonderful surprises (400 m ascent - walking time 2 hours return)
On the 2nd day, we'll leave the refuge to head for the upper springs of the Arc, the emblematic torrent of the Maurienne. To do this, we'll cross ancient glacial landscapes. We'll walk along the Arc, with its waterfalls and sumptuous scenery, back to our starting point (elevation gain 300m - walking time 04h00) - We'll then have to climb back up to the Evettes refuge and its glacial cirque through the Reculaz gorges, where the magnificent torrent flows as a result of melting glaciers. We'll need to negotiate a few short, somewhat athletic sections to reach this splendid glacial cirque, which will amaze us (ascent 600m - walking time 01h45)
On the 3rd day, we'll be able to leave the refuge lightly, as we'll be returning to it on the way back, to reach, at the foot of the glaciers, the very famous Grand Méan lake, again with breathtaking scenery (320 m ascent - walking time 2h30 return) - Then all that's left for us to do is get back to our starting point with superb panoramic views over the Haute Maurienne, its peaks, glaciers and pastures, in landscapes that are still very wild (ascent 50m - Descent 2h)
All along this hike we can also admire the richness of the flora and we will certainly have the opportunity to come across a rich wildlife...
